What if I have more than 30 people that want to come on the field trip?
If there are more than 30 people interested in your field trip, your group will need to split-up between multiple time slots of the same day or multiple days.
What if I have less than 10 people that are able to come on my trip?
If there are less than 10 people able to attend your trip, you will need to book your tickets online individually on our ticketing page.
What if I want to visit with my group, but it is less than two weeks out?
If you want to schedule a visit and it is closer than two weeks away, you will need to contact our Field trip coordinator (email) to see if we have space available and your group is able to be accommodated.
Am I able to picnic at Cox Arboretum and Gardens?
Yes! You are welcome to picnic here. We several seating areas for your group to dine in. Make sure to confirm with your field trip coordinator if you want to picnic. All groups are responsible for picking up their trash.
Is there a cost for admission?
Admission is $9 for all students teachers are free. Chaperones, non-school employees, are charged $9/person.
Is there a cost for parking?
No, there is not a cost for parking.
Is there somewhere for us to store our lunches during our field trip?
Unfortunately, we don’t have fridge space for lunches.
Is Cox Arboretum and Gardens handicap accessible?
Cox Arboretum and Gardens is committed to making its exhibits, programs, gardens, and facilities as accessible and user-friendly as possible. However, due to the historic nature of much of the gardens, some areas may present challenges to those in wheelchairs, strollers, or who have difficulty walking or climbing sloped terrain.
What happens if there is inclement weather?
Field trips are weather permitting. Education staff will be in touch at least 24 hours before a scheduled trip if a change is necessary. Field trips will be rescheduled as space permits. For weather concerns or cancellations, please email (email)
