Photo and Video Policy:
Here at Cox Arboretum we encourage our guests to take pictures and videos to document the beauty of our gardens. Cox Arboretum reserves the right to limit access to any area throughout the gardens due to safety or for other reasons at any time.
Guest photography:
Our guests are encouraged to take photos during their visit for personal and private use only and do not include a professional photographer. These photos cannot be used for resale, or commercial use at any time, unless given permission by Cox Arboretum.
Professional photography:
Photographers or guests that would like to have professional photos taken must reserve a time and date in advance (no walk ins) for one hour, and pay a fee according to the session.
Fees vary based on the number of people during each session, and payment is required in full before the session begins. There will be no refunds given unless the arboretum closes due to an emergency, or there is inclement weather. Cox Arboretum reserves the right to stop any
sessions at any point due to inappropriate or destructive behavior. The reservation will begin and end at the set time of the hour, if the party shows up late the end time will not extend, any sessions that run over will be charged for another full session.
Pricing per session:
1-5 People: $50 for one hour
5-10 People: $100 for one hour
The total count of people per session will need to include the photographer, family or friends that are present for the session even if not being photographed, and children ages 5 and up.
Photography guidelines:
Cox Arboretum hopes you enjoy the beauty of our gardens with your camera while also being mindful of the policies below.
- No walk ins, all professional photographers are required to schedule a session in advance by calling or going on our website.
- Professional photographers must check in with one of our staff members before their session begins.
- Professional photographers can show up at any point during their reserved session time, but must leave by the set end time. Any time spent over the allotted time will result in a fee for an additional hour.
- Cox Arboretum asks that you respect all of our gardens and trees. No stepping in garden beds, no climbing trees, no attaching any objects to our plants or trees, no activities that would result in any damage.
- Do not pick or remove any plants.
- Cox Arboretum reserves the right to close any areas in the garden due to any reason at any time.
- Outside props are prohibited in the garden (including but not limited to: furniture, animals, motorized vehicles, smoke bombs, paint, balloons, tape, confetti, glitter/sequins, sparklers.) For special events there may be an agreement made prior to the visit, no props allowed unless given permission.
- No open flames.
- Supervise children at all times for their safety and the welfare of our plants.
- Be extra careful when taking photographs near water features.
- NO climbing on the waterfall!
- Guests are required to clean up any and all trash that they may acquire during their visit.
(examples being water bottles, cans, cups, napkins, etc.)
- Only service animals are permitted on property.
- Drone photography is prohibited on the property at all times.
- All attire must be appropriate by community standards, there are no changing rooms available.
- Cox Arboretum reserves the right to end any session and ask the party to leave due to inappropriate or destructive behavior. If you are asked to leave the gardens Cox Arboretum has the right to ban you and your group from the property.
- Cox Arboretum is home to rare and endangered species, our top priority is the safety of our plants.
- Cox Arboretum is not responsible for any loss or damage to any equipment.
- By entering this property you assume all risk and liability, the owner is not responsible for injuries, accidents, and or death. Enter at your own risk. By entering this property you agree to and adhere to this notice and assume all liabilities for you and your guests including children and pets.
